Lodi Branch Special Interest Groups

Be Informed ❖ Linda Hammons

Meets at 3:00pm on the first Thursday of the month. Speaker presentations cover a wide range of topics, including local issues, health, women’s roles, food and agriculture, travel, art, emerging technologies and much more.

Bunco ❖ Linda Sattler

A dice game based on luck. Meetings are held on the last Monday of each month at 3:00pm in a member’s home. Cost is $5.50 to cover prizes.

Diversity Exchange ❖ Nancy St. Clair, Kaery Castillo-Ferreira, Stacey Ardelean

We strive to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion. Diversity Exchange will facilitate get-togethers, book talks, field trips, and documentary discussions. We will listen to others’ views, thoughts, and beliefs, fostering a space that values everyone regardless of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class. Periodic activities will be announced in the monthly AAUW Lodi newsletter.

Fine Arts Group ❖ Marne Simpson

Our group focuses on local fine arts events: painting, sculpture, architecture, poetry, music, literature, theatre, and dance. All members interested in the aesthetics and beauty of various art forms — and enjoying art for art’s sake — are welcome to attend. Events include a variety of subjects with group trips organized in Lodi, Stockton, and the Sacramento area. Events are announced in the newsletter and via email. We encourage members to suggest specific shows and events.

Girls’ Night Out ❖ Julie Thompson

Dinner at local restaurants on the third Thursday of the month. Each event is planned by a different member.

Le Club Français (Bastille Babes) ❖ Sylvia Mayorga

Explore French cultural topics and share experiences. Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at 1:30pm in a member’s home. Each meeting host plans the activity for that meeting.

Textile Arts Group ❖ Pat Drouin and Kathy Anderson

Meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00am to enjoy camaraderie and needlework skills at a member’s home. Members bring a handiwork project they are creating to work on and share with other members.

Supper Club ❖ Donna Swinney

Meets monthly to enjoy a meal and social time at a member’s home. Meeting days vary. Hosts or co-hosts provide the entrée and create the menu for the remaining members to contribute other dishes. The group includes spouses or guests and is limited to a total of 24 attendees.
